The Level 2 Emergency First Aid at Work Training Course is 1 day long and prepares you to respond correctly in emergency situations.

The EFAW Training covers the following topics:

✅ Taking charge and summoning help

✅ Priorities in First Aid

✅ Controlling Bleeding

✅ Epilepsy

✅ Poisoning

✅ Burns and Scalds

Total Duration: 1 Day (6 Hours Minimum)

Under UK/NI Health & Safety Executive (HSE/HSENI) guidance, EFAW is a one‑day qualification designed to give staff the skills to respond to life‑threatening emergencies.

Blended Learning Breakdown

Most accredited providers (including Ultimate Training) deliver EFAW as a blended course:

  • Online E‑Learning: 3 Hours Learners complete interactive modules covering:

    • Roles & responsibilities of a first aider

    • Incident assessment

    • Managing an unresponsive casualty

    • CPR theory

    • AED awareness

    • Choking, bleeding, shock, minor injuries

  • Classroom Practical Training: 3–4 Hours This is essential because learners must demonstrate practical competence, including:

    • CPR on an adult manikin

    • Safe use of an AED

    • Recovery position

    • Managing bleeding

    • Primary survey

    • Real‑world scenario practice

This blended model is fully compliant with HSENI/HSE requirements, as long as the online portion is quality‑assured and the practical element is face‑to‑face.
